Just recently Taylor Swift won artist of the decade along with other awards at the 2019 AMAs but is she really? It would not be proper of me to not sight the fact that yes while Taylor is talented and deserves awards for her music it relates a bigger aspect of the music industry and pop culture in general and that is content. Once again yes Taylor Swift is a talented singer but the content of her music. Having listened to many Taylor Swift tracks throughout the years(my wife is a big fan) I have come to notice a trend in her lyrics. She started her career with bright chipper love songs to a soft country pop melody and had a slow decline into songs about jaded love and the hardships with the occasional poppy fun song in-between. These are not great works of art shes just catchy enough to get stuck in your head. Is the ability to get stuck in your head really the queen of of the decade or is she just a favorite?
